Welcome To My Blog

Hey there and welcome to my little corner of the internet! I’m so excited you’re here. This blog is where I’m going to get a little more personal — sharing not just photos, but the stories behind them. You’ll find inspiration, a peek behind the scenes of my photography business, tips and tricks for your own sessions, and a whole lot of real life in between. My goal is to make this space feel like a cozy chat with a friend — honest, heartfelt, and full of love for storytelling through photos.

How Savig Studios Came to Be

Hey there — I’m Tiffany, the face behind Savig Studios! I’m so excited you’re here and that I finally get to share a little bit about how this dream came to life.

Photography wasn’t always part of my plan. I actually have a degree in Elementary Education, and after working in the schools, I realized pretty quickly it just wasn’t for me. I still loved working with kids, though, so I ended up running a daycare partnered with Head Start. While Head Start is an amazing resource for families, the truth is… they weren’t so great to their workers.

Fast forward to about a month before I was due to have my baby girl, Charlotte (or Charlie, as we call her). One of my substitutes quit — she was supposed to run my daycare while I was on maternity leave. Head Start told me I’d have to come back the same week I gave birth, even if just once a week, and eventually bring my tiny newborn with me. I remember thinking, nope, absolutely not. My contract was up in a week anyway, so I quit. Smell ya never!

So there I was — less than a month from giving birth, jobless, and honestly just hoping things would somehow work out. And they did. After 40 hours of labor and 20 minutes of pushing, I was holding my gorgeous baby girl in my arms. My whole world changed in that moment.

Becoming a mom has been the most beautiful, life-changing thing I’ve ever experienced. I love my boyfriend, Austin, dearly — but the love I have for Charlie is something completely different. I found myself constantly taking photos of her, trying to freeze every little moment — the way she scrunched her nose, those tiny smiles, her sleepy stretches. I’d send those photos to family, and Austin’s grandma Diane kept telling me I had such an eye for it and that I should do photography.

Then one day, after our own family session with Hannah K Photography, I met Hannah and was so inspired by her kindness and passion for what she does. That conversation stuck with me. I started researching, watching countless videos, reading everything I could about photography — and eventually, I bought my first camera.

The rest is history in the making.

Now I get to capture the same kind of love and connection that made me fall in love with photography in the first place — families, motherhood, and all the little moments in between.

A huge thank you to Austin, Charlie, Blair, and Nolan for being my test subjects during all my early “practice” photoshoots (you’re the real MVPs).

That is a summed up version of my story — how Savig Studios was born out of a wild year, a lot of heart, and a whole lot of love for the people who mean the most to me. 💕
